Professional Instruction & Performance
About Me
Hello, my name is Jack Kehrli. I am a professional violist who loves to explore the possibilities of my instrument and express honest musical ideas.
I grew up playing violin in the Greater Seattle area, taking lessons from Ronald Patterson, a University of Washington professor. I later earned my degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where I studied viola with Robert Vernon, former principal violist of The Cleveland Orchestra.
Professionally, I have performed regularly with The Cleveland Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Symphony, and held a tenured position with the Akron Symphony, among many other engagements. While I deeply value these opportunities, the time I spend teaching my students is what I enjoy most.

Teaching Philosophy
I believe that each person has a unique voice. My role as an instructor is to provide the tools that help students express that voice with confidence and freedom. I guide students toward solutions, remain detail-oriented without chasing perfection, and cultivate a welcoming, collaborative environment.
